Give Stock, Multiply Your Impact

Instructions for making a stock gift to Dallas Community Fellowship Church

Donating appreciated investments, including publicly traded shares, ETFs, and mutual funds, may offer an efficient way to support the church while making the most of your gift.

Why Give Stock Instead of Cash?

  • Potential capital-gains savings: Securities held for more than one year may generally be donated without first recognizing the increase in value as a taxable gain.
  • Possible charitable deduction: Depending on IRS rules and your individual situation, you may be able to deduct the fair market value rather than only your original cost.
  • Concentrate several years of giving: Combining planned gifts into one tax year may help some donors exceed the standard-deduction threshold and itemize deductions.
  • Increase the impact of your gift: The combination of possible tax savings and a charitable deduction may allow you to give more without increasing your net cost.
  • Provide the church with the full value: As a qualified nonprofit, the church can sell donated shares without capital-gains tax and direct the proceeds to ministry, missions, and other church needs.
