College Ministry

Our Mission
To join the church in making Christ followers through biblical teaching and authentic modeling for the witnessing of the gospel, here and beyond.
Our Vision
Our vision is that DCFC college students would be vitalized in Christ and flourishing in their personal and professional lives—becoming joyful and wholesome representations of what it looks like to follow the teachings of Jesus.
We want college to be more than a season students simply get through. We hope these years become formative years in which students know God more deeply, build meaningful relationships, grow in Christlikeness, and learn to live out their faith wherever God sends them.
Our Values
Encountering God
More than simply knowing about God, we want students to know and encounter Him personally. We want to move beyond a surface level understanding to an experiential grasping of God, his truth, and his character.
Through biblical teaching, prayer, worship, community, retreats, and everyday life, we want to create opportunities for students to behold who God is and respond to Him. Our hope is that students develop a growing love for God and His Word that shapes every part of their lives.
Maturing Through Spiritual Disciplines
We want students to develop lifelong rhythms that help them grow in Christlikeness.
College is a formative season, and the habits developed during these years can shape decades to come. Through Scripture, prayer, accountability, fellowship, worship, service, and other spiritual disciplines, we want students to learn how to pursue Christ faithfully—not only while they are in college, but for the rest of their lives.
We want to be a community where students can talk honestly about sin, brokenness, doubts, and struggles while continually pointing one another toward the grace and transforming work of Jesus.
Making Memories
God uses relationships in our life to transform us. To build strong relationships, we believe that it is through meaningful shared experiences.
Whether it's a late night around a campfire having deep conversations, sweating through the Tough Mudder together, cramming or serving others during Studyfest, attending a retreat, sharing a meal, or simply spending time together after church, we want students to build friendships and make memories that last beyond their college years.
Our hope is that College Ministry becomes more than another Sunday on the calendar - it becomes a community where students genuinely enjoy doing life together.
Serving Others
Following Jesus teaches us to look beyond ourselves and toward the needs of others.
We want students to discover how God has uniquely gifted them and learn to use their time, abilities, resources, and relationships for His purposes. This means serving one another, contributing to the life of our church, caring for our community, sharing the gospel, and participating in God's work here and beyond. Many of our students are actively engaged in campus ministry as well. We encourage our students to be active and to serve as they are able.
Our hope is that students don't simply attend church during college, but increasingly see themselves as an important part of the body of Christ and learn to faithfully serve wherever God places them.
What to Expect
We typically meet on Sundays from 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM in Room 3 of the Fellowship House for biblical teaching, discussion, prayer, and fellowship.
Many of our students attend The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), with others coming from Collin College, the University of North Texas (UNT), other colleges in the DFW area, and graduate programs. During the summer and holidays many of our students who had graduated from our church come back from all over Texas and the US to attend the college ministry.
Throughout the year, our College Leadership Team intentionally plans our curriculum, retreats, prayer gatherings, events, and other opportunities around the unique needs and challenges facing college students.
