Unveiling Our Core Values

What Are Values?

What are our collective DCFC values? What defines us as a community of faith? We anchor our values in what we see at DCFC in the present, and we look forward to where God might be growing our English and Chinese speaking congregations together.

Join us as we delve deeper into this integral aspect of our identity, exploring the heart of who we are and where we see God leading us forward.

“...complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind... Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus...”Philippians 2:2, 5

DCFC Values

1

Word Centered

We believe that the Word of God is our ultimate source of truth and guidance and that Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness...”

2 Timothy 3:16
2

Better Together

We cherish the rich tapestry of diversity within our church family, recognizing that God’s Kingdom is made more vibrant when we embrace our differences and celebrate our shared identity in Christ.

“From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

Ephesians 4:16
3

Fellowship

We seek to cultivate a God-honoring and loving community where individuals can experience authentic and genuine relationships.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Hebrews 10:24-25
4

Generosity

We strive to be a community that extends love, compassion, and generosity to others, mirroring the abundant grace God has poured out on us.

“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Acts 20:35
5

Leading Forward

We are committed to cultivating leaders for the next generation who are passionate, servant-hearted, and guided by God’s Word, empowering them to lead with innovation, integrity, wisdom, and courage in all spheres of their life.

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

Ephesians 4:11-12

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”

2 Timothy 2:2
6

Sent Out

We believe that we are called not only to gather as a church community but also to be sent out as ambassadors for Christ, carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ to both our local neighborhood and the end of the Earth.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

“Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”

— William Carey

Themes for 2024 - 2027

The Disciple’s Pathway

Our 2024-2027 themes consist of four stages: Behold, Belong, Become, and Beyond. Each stage represents a progression in a person’s journey toward becoming an authentic Christ follower. Together, these four B’s constitute our Disciple’s Pathway at DCFC.

This is not a passive stroll; it is an active, intentional journey toward a mature Christian life. It calls us to pursue Christ with zeal and live out our faith in ways that leave a lasting impact on the world.

2024

Behold

“Behold” challenges us to seek Him individually and collectively with fervor, to immerse ourselves in His Presence. We behold God in corporate weekly worship and in our private daily devotion to Him.

2025

Belong

“Belong” challenges us to actively engage with our church family, to support and be supported, and to share in the joys and struggles of faith together.

2026

Become

“Become” challenges us to delve deeply into Scripture, discipleship, prayer, and other spiritual disciplines, to fight our flesh and renew our mind. It is a journey towards Christlikeness and joy in God.

2027

Beyond

“Beyond” calls us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to serve others selflessly, and to boldly share the Gospel with those around us both locally and globally. This stage challenges us to step outside of our comfort zones and embrace the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment.

2024: Behold

Objectives and Goals

“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.”Psalm 84:1-2
01

Encourage personal, family, and corporate worship

Our desire is that we would allow God to grow us from the inside out, first within our daily devotional life, our household (marriage, family, roommates), and then in our corporate weekly Sunday worship.

02

Call fellowship members to worship

Sunday services provide a dedicated time for collective worship, reflection, and spiritual growth, complementing the warm fellowship during the week.

03

Encourage daily Bible reading

We need to daily pursue God in His Word to worship Him and become more like Him.

04

Continue Growing Deeper, Leading Forward, and Going Wider

We desire to continue what we have been doing in 2021-2023 and be intentional about discipleship, creating authentic accountability groups, and being intentional with outreach and evangelism.

05

Increase engagement in tithing

Tithing is an act of worship, a demonstration of trust in God’s provision, and a way to partake in our mission. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
