Pastor Shepherd Kim was born in Korea and attended church with his parents from childhood. In college he began earnestly pursuing his faith and spiritual growth. He received God's call in 1997 and entered full-time ministry after graduating from college in 1998. From 1998 to 2015 he served as a missionary in East Asia. He graduated from Christian Witness Theological Seminary in North America in December 2018 and began serving at DCFC in June 2019. He and his wife Gloria have three children.

As Chinese ministry pastor, Pastor Kim assists, leads, teaches, and oversees the ministries of the Chinese congregation. His responsibilities include preaching, teaching, discipleship, leadership development, premarital and marriage counseling, pastoral care, and ministry planning.
