Gloria Hu was born and raised in mainland China and educated as an atheist. At the crossroads of life after college graduation, feeling confused and lost, she came to faith when an international-student friend shared the gospel with her. After college she worked at a software company while participating in campus fellowship. In sharing the gospel and leading discipleship groups, she found great satisfaction and joy in seeing lives changed by God. In 1998 she was called into full-time service with a gospel ministry organization, where she later married Pastor Shepherd Kim, who served in the same organization. In September 2015 she began the MCS program in Christian counseling at Christian Witness Theological Seminary, graduating in June 2019, and moved to Dallas with Pastor Kim and their family to serve. She and Pastor Kim have two sons and one daughter.

As adult ministry assistant, she partners with the senior pastor and the Chinese ministry pastor in discipleship, young-adult ministry, Sunday school, sisters' fellowship, premarital and marriage counseling, leadership development, and pastoral care.
